The contagious new strain of the coronavirus is now in the Tees Valley.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the new strain of Covid-19 is up to 70% more transmissible than previous strains of the virus.
Stockton Council s Leader Bob Cook has confirmed that the highly transmissible variant has been detected in the Tees Valley.
